TOY STORY
More than $ 1 billion in revenue worldwide. Toy Story 3, Pixar Studios' latest gem and Sunday winner of the Oscar for Best Animated Film, has also become the most profitable cartoon in film history, surpassing the $ 1 billion in revenue worldwide .
Nothing seems to stop the success of the prestigious digital animation studio - founded by Steve Jobs and bought in 2006 by Disney - which won the Oscar for animated film for the fourth year in a row, after Ratatouille (2008), Wall-E (2009) and Up there (2010).
Conflict with Disney

The challenge was huge, however, for Pixar. The last adventures of Buzz Lightning, Cowboy Woody and their friends went back to 1999 (Toy Story 2) and nothing said that the public would be at the rendezvous after such a long absence - unusual for a successful franchise. Pixar had tried to surf faster on the triumph of the first two games, but the production of the third part was made impossible by the financial mess between Pixar and Disney, when the latter was still the distributor of the first.
It was only when Mickey's studio bought out his competitor that the project for a new Toy Story could be launched. Still had to find a story that can accommodate the eleven years since Toy Story 2. The head of the creation of Pixar, John Lasseter (director of the first two Toy story, Cars and 1001 legs) then gathered his teams in a remote part of California, and it was during this retreat that was born the idea of confronting toys ... the passing of time.

This is how we find Andy, the child of the first episodes, with eleven more, about to leave the family home for his college room, and summoned by his mother to get rid of his toys. The latter, wounded to find themselves abandoned and good for the trash, do everything for Andy to take them with them, without success. In search of a welcoming roof - and children with whom to play - they land in a kindergarten that, under its air of paradise, will be a real hell.

The screenplay by Michael Arndt (author of the independent hit "Little Miss Sunshine") contains all the ingredients that made Pixar's success and paw: humor, emotion, second degree and an ability to tackle the themes seriousness that ensure his films a multi-generational audience. The next Pixar Studios movie, Cars 2, directed by John Lasseter, will be on the screens this summer.
